We are seeking individuals to join our team and work with NDIS participants in the Regional New South Wales and Regional Victoria. 

Requirements

  • NSW Drivers Licence or working towards and ability to obtain 
  • NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission Training Module ‘Quality Safety and You’
  • Covid 19 Infection Control Training 
  • NSW Criminal History Check within 1 month of applying
  • Current working with Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check Number 
  • Mobile Phone 

Qualifications

  • Certificate 111 in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability) or the ability and willingness to obtain
  • Diploma or BSc in Nursing as a base qualification. 
  • Australia Mental Health First Aid or the ability and willingness to obtain
  • Current Australian First Aid Certificate & CPR, or the ability and willingness to obtain
  • Covid 19 training or ability and willingness to obtain
  • Medication Training (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
  • Manual Handling Training (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
  • Demonstrated capacity to support participants who may engage in behaviours of concern, utilising a positive and proactive approach.
  • Candidates who have experience implementing complex Behaviour Support Plans are encouraged to apply.

Do you have?

  • Sound knowledge of National Disability Standards and the human rights of persons with disability.
  • Experience work with people with disability and or psychosocial support needs
  • Ability to prioritise participants supports when required accordingly to their participant support profiles.
  • Ability to facilitate effective decisions regarding making and choice to NDIS participants and our customers.
  • Understand the functions of implementing behaviour support and restricted practices and how to record these when they occur
  • Ability to Identify, mitigate and problem solve risk management issues relating to Work Health and Safety
  • Ability to identify, remediate and give clear feedback to our customers concerns regarding feedback and complaints
  • Understanding of incident management and how to manage incidents effectively in different situations and environments
  • Ability to independently reflect and identify self-improvement area’s and participate in supervision and ongoing development.
  • Be able to work independently and as a part of a team and enjoy a work life balance

What will my Job involve?

  • Identification of risks to our customers using person centred practices and how to implement both short term and long-term management strategies.
  • Providing support to individuals and their families.
  • Promoting an environment that encourages our customers to feel safe and comfortable.
  • Identifying individual’s needs and following and contributing to their support plans.
  • Providing practical support for individuals and their families, such as assisting with household tasks, personal care (showering) and meeting goals in their individual Plans.
  • Supporting and monitoring their healthcare needs, including administering medication eating and drinking and other individual health requirements.
  • Supporting persons with disability to pursue hobbies, interests and learning new skills
  • Teaching life skills, such as budgeting and paying bills.
  • Helping with everyday tasks such as Doctors Appointments, meal preparation, writing a shopping list, going shopping, or maintaining their housing tenancy.
  • Helping people to access community facilities and participate in Community activities according to their individual goals.
  • Understanding their communication needs and adapting your communication to each individual, e.g. verbal, sounds, tones, body language.
  • Working with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support to enhance their daily lives.
  • Deliver person-centered support to Participants in a Supported Independent Living setting
  • Deliver person-centered support to Participants in a Short-Term Respite setting
  • Support Participants in their homes with daily tasks, personal care, and medication administration
  • Support Participants to participate in their local communities and engage in meaningful recreational activities

About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to join a long-term support team for a client living at home.

In this role, you will support the client with daily living activities, personal care, community participation and achieving their individual goals. You will be part of a collaborative and experienced team, working together to provide consistent, respectful and high-quality support.

The client is active, motivated and has meaningful life goals. We are looking for support workers who bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic and genuine commitment to person-centred care.

A variety of shifts are available, including mornings, evenings and weekends.

You will be someone who is reliable, compassionate and able to work well within a dedicated team of experienced and passionate support professionals.
